This course gives the full picture of concepts, architecture, and products of the IBM SOA foundation, including hands-on experience with the related products. This course explains the architectural concepts, building blocks and design patterns which come together to enable a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).  

Additionally, it aims to provide a big picture of IBM products which support SOA and where they fit into the different phases of the SOA Foundation lifecycle: model, assemble, deploy, and manage.

Zielgruppe

Developers and architects working in a SOA environment or on a transition to SOA

Voraussetzungen

• Knowledge of basics of SOA

• Knowledge of Java and Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE)

• Familiarity with Web services standards, such as Extensible Markup Language (XML), Web Services Description Language (WSDL), and SOAP

• Basic familiarity with the IBM products in the SOA Foundation, such as RSA, Rational Application Developer, WAS, WebSphere MQ, DB2 Universal Database, and IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for WebSphere and SOA

• Service design principles and patterns
• Service-oriented integration and the Enterprise Service Bus
• SOA Governance and where it fits into the larger SOA picture
• Business-driven development
• Business process choreography and WS-BPEL
• Monitoring and management of SOA deployments
• IBM products in support of SOA are discussed, and how they fit together to enable a complete end-to-end SOA solution
